Lorenzo Rositano - Tenor
Lorenzo has been studying singing since he was 12 years old; he studied the Caruso Method of singing with ex-opera singer Trevor Brown at the Joan Sutherland Conservatorium of Music, Penrith. Lorenzo completed his HSC in 2004 at Jamison High School, Penrith, where he was named Musician of the Year, having come in the top 10% in the state for Music. Since April of 2006 Lorenzo has being studying Languages at the University of Sydney and in February of 2007 Lorenzo commenced a Diploma of Opera at the Conservatorium of Music, Sydney with Singing Teacher Maree Ryan (Chair of the Vocal Studies & Opera Unit) Lorenzo has been cast in two of the Conservatorium opera productions to be held in September and October of this year: Joseph Haydn’s “La Vera Costanza” & Arthur Benjamin’s “The Prima Donna”. Lorenzo was awarded a scholarship through John Browns Sports and Tourism Youth Foundation, sponsored by Western Australia benefactor Dianne Laurance, to further his studies. Lorenzo completed a year of training and Graduated from the prestigious ‘Talent Development Project’, which operates in the Jack Neary room in the Sydney Entertainment Centre. The T.D.P. has kick started the careers of Fames such as: Human Nature, Paulini, John Forman & Nathan Foley from Hi 5, Just to name a few. The Programme was developed & is directed by Mary Lopez AM, also the Director of ‘The Schools Spectacular’, which Lorenzo was a soloist of for 4 consecutive years and was telecasted on the ABC every year. The Last 4 years have been a world Adventure for Lorenzo. In 2004 and 2005 He was Lead vocalist and Compere with ‘The Great Australian Fashion Show’, which toured Singapore, Turkey, Egypt, Bangladesh and India over the 2 years. Lorenzo claimed national headlines in 2006 when he was selected by the Australian Olympic Committee to perform the Australian national anthem at the Winter Olympic Games in Turin, Italy. With this opportunity Lorenzo toured Italy in February and March of 2006. In March of 2007 Lorenzo was asked to perform as an ambassador from Australia in Japan as part of the International Japanese Taiko Drum Festival. Lorenzo’s ambition is to one day be able to study opera at the world’s most famous conservatorium – La Scala Academia in Milan, Italy. In the meantime he is thrilling local audiences with his commanding stage presence and magnificent tenor voice.
